Artist Statement

“Cartooning takes me to places I’d love to visit but may never get to. No wonder most of my gags are set in the great outdoors – in mountains, on the high seas, up in the air, deep underwater, in outer space, and even on alien planets. Cartooning helps me make sense of life. For me, the deceptively simple yet severely challenging act of extracting humour from mundane situations and presenting it within a single black-and-white sketch with a crisp caption is both, sobering and liberating. It teaches me to take living seriously, life not so much.”
