Reflections of Beauty
Nika Kermani was born and raised in a small town called White Salmon. She thinks about her blending of heritage when she creates her work. She strives to understand how she can create work that crosses artistic boundaries and bridges cultures. Instagram: @nikakermaniart
"I want my artwork to reflect both the inner and outer beauty I observe around me. I ask myself, how does one paint the intangible beauty in an act of kindness? An embrace of love? Justice? Humility? These are things I explore. Lastly, Abdu’l-Bahá said, '…when thy fingers grasp the paint brush, it is as if thou wert at prayer in the Temple.' I feel closest to God, or that Unknowable Essence when creating. I believe art is worship and I use my art to pay homage to the Divine and in so doing I hope to understand more fully my purpose and how to share art with others in a way that adds values to their lives."
