Artist Statement

“I've always been inspired by biology, natural sciences, and history. I find the microscopic structures that make up our own bodies fascinating and beautiful, and I love learning about the mysteries of molecular processes or ancient history. Biology and history are traditionally viewed as very serious and restrained subjects; however, in my collages, I add an element of ‘pop’ by using bright and bold colors, wacky juxtapositions, and just a dash of humor. I always hope that my collages can make viewers smile and reveal the innate beauty present in the wonderful worlds of science and history.”
