Artist Statement

“Colourful. That's the word that usually come to my mind when I think of my country. And it is, it is a nation of colours, of festivals and diversity. But, once you take out the colour from the country, when you see it raw, in monochrome, you see what lies behind the superficiality. There are those of course, who only use the latest iPhones, who have four cars and two houses. But beyond that lies poverty, desperation, loneliness, and those who try to make ends meet in any way possible. There are starving artists, street vendors trying their best, auto rickshaw drivers who engage in lighthearted conversation about the miseries of their life. And with the colours, it is bright and cheerful, without it, you see their reality.”
