Artist Statement:

“Underpinning my work is existential anxiety and the desire to represent the condition of flux and momentariness. My work, hence is produced in response to the transient and imperfect nature of things, emotions and ideas. I am interested to present multi-faceted, multi-layered, multiple universes beyond our tangible world through creating physical objects imbued with metaphysical connotations. Employing a variety of aesthetic modes, I stage nonlinear narratives that engage in layers of perceptions and deal with such themes as magic realism, alternative space wanderlust and metaphoric associations. It is important that my work has the plasticity of interpretations in order to address the unstable condition of existence. I lead the viewer to re-examine common perceptions of reality by recontextualization, restaging, alterations of dimensions and juxtapositions of unlikely materials. Experimentation, clearing space for new ideas and accidental discoveries and allowing anomalies to take place during the process of construction is fundamental to my work. The malaise of existential anxiety is therefore curbed by the appreciation of imperfection & impermanence.”
