Artist Statement

“These works are paintings, most acrylic on panel, some acrylic and oil on paper mounted on wood. I work with an abstract language of mark and color to represent light and form. My attraction to portraiture relates to two things in particular: my interest in connecting with people through my work and the recognizability of the human form and its allowance for abstraction.”
