"What's the world for you if you can't make it up the way you want."

-Jazz, Toni Morrison

Yellow.

Beware the bright son.

Flying on fabrications.

Daddy-less. Crafted.

D. Marquel is a writer and teacher originally from Los Angeles. He studied Creative Writing at the University of Southern California and San Francisco State University. His work has been featured in San Diego Writers, Ink: A Year in Ink Anthology (Vol. 11), City Works (Vols. 23 and 25), and by So Say We All’s VAMP reading series. He was once bitten by a Burmese python, he's seen every episode of I Love Lucy, and quit therapy because - frankly - it messed with his writing. He lives and breathes in Southern California with his wife and their dog.
